Machined Brass Boxes For The Electronics Industry

These brass boxes are used in the electronics industry. When completed, they are filled with micro-electronic devices and covered with a lid. They are machined out of solid brass and then sent to us to be gold plated. Our process involves several cleaning and pretreatment steps. A cyanide copper strike followed by an acid copper flash insures adhesion. We then plate them with 40+ micro inches (1 micron) of 24K cobalt hardened gold. The gold electroplate is a "Type I", (99.7%+ purity) - "Grade C", (Knoop hardness of 130-200), "Class 0" (thickness >30 and < 50 micro inches. |
